Cats are very common in homes of pet lovers. It is easier to look after a cat than any other pets.
The cats like all domesticated animals like to have the companionship and affection of humans.
The stray cats that are found around the housing estates and on the streets are ordinary cats. They are called alley cats.
Cats that are carefully bred for sale are very expensive. These are called pedigree cats. A pedigree has a birth certificate which shows the records of its parents.
Pedigree cats are divided into two classes - the short haired and the long haired breeds. The Burmese and Siamese cats are the short haired breeds whereas the Persian cats and the Himalayan cats are the long haired breeds.
However if you want to have a cat for a pet, it does not matter whether it is an alley cat or pedigree. The most important is that you get your pet from a clean place and make sure that your cat is healthy.
We must send our cat to the veterinarian for inoculation against cat flu.
